Trip to Tuk - Pictorial Continued

Temp: -28°C
Sunlight - 9.55 hours

Here are more pictures of the trip to Tuk:

A picture looking across a small section of Husky Lakes

Another picture looking across a larger section of Husky Lakes. It is a huge lake!

Back on the Tundra

Confiring on direction again

A caribou antler sticking up out of the snow on the Tundra. With such limited opportunity for vegetation to grow, every possibility is explored. Here you can see the small tuft of field grass that grows on the antler in the summer.

In this shot we are nearing Tuk. This picture shows the frozen Arctic Ocean. It's the first time I have ever been on the Arctic Ocean. Hopefully this summer I'll see it in its liquid form.

Fast forward several hours and here's me cooking dinner for the guys. Moose of course!

That's it for the pictures. Hope you enjoyed. Remember, if you want to see a larger version of the picture, just click on the small version.

Cheers!

  • In earlier posts, you had mentioned that the trip to Tuk would also be a hunting trip. I can see the rifle in several pictures, was there any success hunting?

Also in the picture by the stove it looks to be a sketch of a wolf or husky. Was this drawn locally?
