Warm Days

Temp: -6°C
Sunlight - 8.45 hours

Another warm day on the delta. The forecast is for colder temperatures in the next few days; but not too cold; not near as cold as it should be. The nice weather is a reprieve for sure.

There was a little storm here yesterday afternoon. I was napping at the time, but I’m told that the wind came up and a little snow fell, and the wind whipped the snow around for a while. I did hear the wind whistling about when I woke up. It was the first time I experienced any appreciable wind in Inuvik. The lack of wind here is one aspect of the weather that is comfortable.

The days grow longer all the time now. Although it’s not light when we go to work, it’s light out by the time we come home for lunch and stays light well into the evening – at least 6:30. The low sun and its powerful rays reflecting off the snow can be blinding at times, so sunglasses are a must.

That’s all for now.

Cheers!
